Eliahu Klein

Storyteller, Author, Rabbi

Reb Eliahu Klein is an impassioned and dedicated teacher of Kabbalah Chassidism and Jewish Meditation. He has taught for over twenty years throughout North America and Israel. He recieved private smichah and authorization to teach publicly - from his teacher and friend the late Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan.

Reb Eliahu is an avid meditator and student of world meditative traditions. He combines the research sensibilities of academic scholarship, the conviction of a practitioner and the faith experience of tradition, to present a meaningful and wholistic approach to Jewish spiritual traditions. He is available for seminars, workshops and private consultations.

Rabbi Klein is offering the following courses, in the fall of 1997/5758:

The Legends and Teachings of the Baal Shem Tov.
This will be a course focused on my book Meeting With Remarkable Souls: Legends of the Baal Shem Tov. The course will begin in October and will be sponsored by Congregation Kehilath Israel in Brookline, MA.
The Living Zohar
A comprehensive course on the poetic bible of Jewish Mysticism with a focus on the teachings, meditations and historical evolution. Hebrew College Discover Program, Tuesday, October 28, 1997 for ten sessions.
The Joy of Jewish Meditation

Rabbi Eliahu Klein completed his rabbinical training at Rabbinical Seminary of Eastern Parkway in NY, and Rabbinical College of Telz - Chicago. Eliahu also completed advanced studies in Education and Counseling at Long Island University and Empire State College (Suny). He trained at these art institutions:

  • Pratt Graphics Center (Arts Management)
  • Brooklyn Museum Art School (Printmaking).
In 1983 he received a personal ordination from the late Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan. Since then Eliahu has been teaching Kabbalah, Chassidism and Jewish meditation throughout North America and Israel. He has published two volumes on Chasidism:

A collection of stories for Rosh Hashannah/Yom Kippur will be the October, 1997 feature on the Hasidic Stories Home Page.

His current projects are translation and commentary on the Early Kabbalah of Yitzchak Luria and the Early Teachings of the Baal Shem.

Eliahu is available for presentation performances of his book Meetings with Remarkable Souls: Legends of the Baal Shem Tov and seminars on Kabbalah and Meditation.
